Roku Recommends: A New Way to Engage Streaming Audiences

It’s the question many Roku streamers ask when they turn on the TV: “What do I watch next?”

Starting today, Roku has new and entertaining way to answer that question. Introducing Roku Recommends: a new 15-minute weekly entertainment program that helps streamers find their next great watch, hosted by Emmy-winner Maria Menounos and award-winning, multi-hyphenate, Andrew “Hawk” Hawkins.

Each week, Maria and Andrew will present the “Top 5” titles that fans are watching across Roku’s thousands of channels

“I looooove TV and I am always on the hunt for the next amazing show, movie or doc to stream,” says Maria. “As the No. 1 TV streaming platform in America, Roku provides access to so much great content, and I am thrilled to co-host a weekly program designed to help viewers find their next favorite program or rediscover a treasured classic."

"I am excited to co-host Roku Recommends and bring millions of viewers my take on the best of the best content from the Roku platform,” said Andrew. “Great titles are right at your fingertips with Roku."

Sponsoring Roku Recommends gives advertisers a prominent and measurable way of engaging Roku streamers. Unlike sponsorships on traditional linear TV, marketers can use our proprietary Roku Measurement Partner Program to quantify whether their Roku Recommends integration reaches a particular subset of streamers, adds incremental reach to a video ad campaign, shifts brand perceptionor delivers full-funnel results.

Several leading national advertisers have signed on as debut sponsors of the weekly program, including America’s largest retailer, Walmart, which will be the premiere show sponsor.

Roku Recommends is the brainchild of the nascent Roku Brand Studio led by Funny or Die veteran, Chris BrussRoku Recommends will be available to stream for free on The Roku Channel and Featured Free, with new episodes every Thursday.
