Holiday shop while you stream with Walmart and Roku

Imagine ticking off items from your holiday shopping list while watching a RomCom. Sounds perfect, right?

Walmart and Roku have made this a reality with engaging content, shoppable commercials, and curated holiday gift lists viewers can easily access while streaming. Walmart’s campaign, RomCommerce, makes it fun to find your perfect holiday thing, and everything else on your shopping list!

Here’s the scoop on the campaign.

"Add to Heart:” A Walmart-shoppable series comes to Roku

Walmart created a 23-part first of its kind shoppable series of commercials called Add to Heart. It features a big city designer Jessica who goes back home to her small town for the holidays. While visiting her local Walmart she bumps into an old flame, Javi. Between the town festivities, decorating and shopping they ultimately find themselves locked in the store overnight! In the aisles, they rekindle their spark making it a season to remember.

Roku viewers can access Add to Heart through Walmart’s branded entertainment playlist and a marquee ad on Roku’s home screen. But here’s the twist. As Roku viewers watch each of the 23 Parts, they can shop products from every single scene!

With the simple click of the Roku remote, viewers can send a text message to themselves with a link to a checkout page to buy the items — from the Nutcracker doll in Jessica’s apartment to the festive red berry ball decoration from the proposal scene. Users can easily check out on their mobile devices (as opposed to manually adding items into their cart to check out).
