Stay updated with Roku Advertising.
Roku Academy, our free CTV education programme, is now live in the UK. The first course, The Streaming Shift, is available now at rokuacademy.uk, giving media planners, buyers and brands a practical grounding in how Britain watches television today and what that means for advertising.
Streaming is no longer the alternative to TV in the UK. For a growing share of viewers, it is TV. Roku Academy exists to help the people planning and buying media keep pace with that change, with the knowledge and the certification to do it with confidence.

What is Roku Academy?
Roku Academy is a free, on-demand learning series that helps marketers become CTV-confident, using Roku examples and data throughout. Each course is built from short, visual video lessons of around 15 minutes, taught through voiceover, animation and on-screen charts.
Every course ends with a short quiz. Pass it and you earn a Roku Academy certificate, a simple way to show your team and your clients that your CTV knowledge is up to date.
The programme is already running in Canada and Mexico, and across the three markets more than 700 students from over 80 agencies have taken part so far.

Course 1: The Streaming Shift
The first UK course sets out how the UK watches TV now and what changes for advertisers. It is grounded in Roku's VOD Evolution research, which surveyed more than 2,300 UK adults in 2026. You will see how much premium viewing is now ad-supported, why so much of it happens on the living-room screen, how live and linear viewing has moved into streaming, and why choice is reshaping how audiences find content.
Course 2, Creative Formats, and Course 3, Targeting & Measurement, will be released in 2027.
Register and take the course online, or get in touch and sign up your agency for an in-person session.
