Walmart has named Roku, America's #1 TV streaming platform, as an inaugural partner for its new Innovation Partner Program.¹ The program aims to use partnerships across social media, livestreaming, and t-commerce to expand advertiser support, increase services, and deliver access anywhere advertisers need to have it. Walmart recently announced this first-of-its-kind partnership to make TV streaming the next shopping destination with shoppable ads.

48% of streamers have paused an ad to shop the product online, and Roku + Walmart are leading the way.²
Walmart Connect is committed to improving and innovating new ways for suppliers and sellers to connect with customers throughout the shopper journey by creating a multilateral culture of experimentation. This is showcased in this innovative partnership and Walmart Connect’s new Partner Program.
Walmart Connect and Roku will work together to better connect advertisers with customers throughout key moments in the shopper journey. This means a better shopping experience, better streaming experience, and better ad experience. Roku’s streaming insights provide ‘Test and Learn’ opportunities for Walmart Connect advertisers throughout the entire holiday season and beyond.
TV streaming and Commerce, better together
Shoppable ads bring commerce and TV streaming together in just a few clicks. Viewers simply press “OK” on the ad and proceed to checkout. Roku Pay makes it possible to automatically populate payment details. From there, one more tap of “OK” on Walmart’s checkout page completes the order. A Walmart purchase confirmation is then emailed with shipping, return, and support information. It’s that simple.
For advertisers, Roku’s shoppable ads offer a purpose-built tech stack that brings together all the benefits of TV streaming advertising in one easy-to-use integration. Roku Brand Studio lets marketers design custom creative, built for TV streaming and interactive ad formats. Roku’s partnership with Walmart Connect takes this integration one step further, turning TV streaming into a commerce channel.
